Design Assignment 4: Bilingual Poetry Volume Covers

Posted on May 17, 2012

An assignment on book cover designing that the students of the Design class at The Seagull School of Publishing got this week was innovative and interesting. Each one had to select a word in their mother tongue, write it down on a piece of paper, scan it and use it as an image, along with its one-word English translation, to create the cover for a bilingual poetry volume. According to the marks given by the classmates in categories such as communication of concept, use of colour, use of typography, use of the original word as image and overall aesthetics, the following three covers were judged the best.
