A Walk

Even gods take a morning bath
under this pale hot sun.
Trees, prayers, and shavings
have their share of the sidewalk.
And like fishes in a boiling pond
flowing quietly and almost barefoot,
souls in Kolkata pass around discreetly.
'Mind your business' means here
so many different things . . .
